Bandit

This is our new dog and Mick's new best friend, Bandit. He is an Australian Shepherd. We looked for one for months and months and finally found exactly what we wanted. He is supposed to be the whole family's dog, but Bandit thinks Mick walks on water or something. He never leaves Mick's side and he gets very protective of him. He does not like it at all when he thinks someone is being to rough with Mick. I hope he learns soon the difference between rough housing with friends or uncles and someone actually being mean. He knows a few commands and tricks. He plays fetch and tug-o-war, sit, lay, shake, and play dead.
He is a great jogging partner for Adam and I. He got some sore feet the first few days of jogging, so we are letting him rest up and work into it slower, though.
He barked and paced the whole first night he came home to our house and I only got 2 hours of sleep, and I was thinking, "What in the world have I done?" But now he and I have adjusted better, I am so glad we found him. He is so sweet and smart and good natured. He also got Adam to do what I couldn't get Adam to do in two years..... finish our fence!! hehe!!

Mick's First Day of 1st Grade

Wahoo!!!!!!!

Demoliton Derby

Here we are at the Utah County Fair Demolition Derby. We went with some good friends of ours, the Hoen Family. It was our first ever crash 'em up derby (except for Adam, he is definately the most experienced "hick"), and I gotta say, I am a fan. It was pretty exciting.
This was by far the worst crash of the night. It was in the Powder Puff heat, which means it was all girl drivers. This lady drove her car so hard into another one, that it flipped the car over upside down and then she drove on top of it. Luckily, no one was injured, but it was super intense. The picture below is after they turned the car back right side up.

Hiking the Uintas

Adam and his father and two brothers went on a week long hike this August in the High Uinta Mountains. They took pack goats along to help them pack their gear, but it ended up that they packed, pulled, shoved, and dragged the goats AND their gear the entire week. But, they did have a great time even if they didn't cover as much ground as they had hoped.

New Calling

Our ward was split last week and Adam and I received new callings this week. I am now the Relief Society secretary. I am way excited. It will be loads of fun and I am hoping to meet some awesome women from it. Adam got called to be a Primary Worker. He wasn't jumping for joy over that, but he didn't complain either. He always has a pretty awesome attitude.
We will miss seeing some of our friends every Sunday that we lost in the split, but change is always good for us, right?

Water Skiing or is it Water Dragging?

We went boating with Adam's parents here a couple weeks ago. It was so fun. Adam got dragged a lot and drank a lot of water, but did manage to get up on the skis for his first time by the end. His brother, Jarod, got up for his first time in record time. He did awesome. Mick and Tori rode the tube and had a good time. Tori got wore out and fell asleep before we were done, so I got to hold her like a baby, which I did not mind at all. It happens way to little anymore.

BBF

This is my best friend, Robyn. She and I have remained friends for going on 17 years now. WOW! Am I really that old that I can say that? I just love her and am glad I have her. She knows more about me than anyone cause she has been there with me through it all, whether it was laughing together, getting into trouble together, or crying together. Let's hear it for BBF!
