Announcing Baby Kade.....

He finally got here!!! He is a healthy little guy. He scored a 10 on his APGAR tests all day. He weighed 6 lbs. 12 oz. and was 19 1/2 inches long. He wins the title for being my smallest baby. My labor went so perfectly and smoothly that I could not believe it was that easy. But after I had Kade, the Dr. couldn't get my placenta to come out. It had permenantly attached itself to my uterus and he had to scrape it out. Not very pleasant and oh boy was I glad I had a good epidural in while this was going on. He said it was like peeling a carrot with a potato peeler. It caused a lot of hemmoraging and I had to have some blood transfusions. I lost consciousnous on and off for a while, but I could tell that it was chaos all around me. I remember them yelling to get an OR room ready so they could do a hysterectomy and yelling for blood STAT. It was kind of like being in an ER episode (my favorite show of all time.) I also had my Dr. and a few different specialists working on me. But thank heaven, they got the bleeding stopped and I didn't have to have surgery.
It was not how I had planned today to go and it's really late now and even with strong painkillers and sleeping aids, I can't rest because of the pain. The nurse told me to expect it to be 10 times worse tomorrow. Oh lovely! But I feel very thankful that the baby is so healthy and that I will be healthy soon. I can't wait to take care of and get to know little Kade better. I wasn't allowed to do much more than hold him for a few minutes today.
When I get to meet God someday, I am going to ask him why childbirth can't be less painful and gross.
Here are a few pictures to enjoy of him.

He was so mad at the world right from the beginning, but his screaming was music to our ears. He has about as much hair as my other two babies did, which means he will probably be completely bald for a year or two. He has little feet but big hands. I am pretty much in love with him.

Oh my gosh, he is beautiful. I love you Sis, call and let me know when you are up to vistors. I will grab Mom and we will come see the new Prince. By the way tell Adam I was sorry to hear about his Grandpa, he was quite the guy. I love you all and I am sure that Kade will be just as beautiful as Torrie and Mick. Tammy

so scary!!! Mothers die from what you had! My aunt was a L&D nurse and she said only 2 women ever died while she worked there, and it was from what you had. I bet Adam was so scared!
On a happier note-congratulations!! I'm glad he is here and you and him are healthy. What a miracle to make a new little human being!

We miss you guys and we hope all is goes well for you. Try to keep your chin up Julie. It will get better over time. By the way, I love the name Kade. It is adorable!
