On July 3rd, we got to do some exciting stuff around here. Mick was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints by his father. Kade Anderson was given a name and a blessing by his father this same day. A lot of family and some friends came to be there and to enjoy a luncheon afterwards. It was a very special day. I am glad that Mick was able to choose to be baptized and that he was so serious about it and seemed to understand what it all meant. I am very very thankful for my faithful husband who was able to perform these duties.
I am thankful for the support of family that day. I missed my dad terribly and wished so bad that he was able to be there to see his grandsons. Then I realized that he most likely was there, I was just not able to see him. Thank God for the gospel and the knowledge that life does go on after physical death.
On a funnier note, I remember when we was newly married and new parents thinking that a couples with kids getting baptized were sooooo OLD. Here I am joining the ranks now. How did that happen?
These pictures are out of order, but you know how fun Blogger has made trying to get them in order so......
Here is all three of kids' blessing outfits. They are special for two reasons. First, because my mother-in-law sewed them. Secondly, because all three were made out of material that was leftover from my wedding dress. Notice how much bigger Kade's (black) is than Mick's (blue).

My fabulous sister-in-law Natalie and Victoria. Such pretty girls.
I love this picture of Mick. He looks like he is about to get into trouble, which is worrisome since he is minutes away from being baptized. Our bishop is here in this picture. He has been our fave Bishop ever. We so appreciate all he does.

All of us with my mom. She looked beautiful that day.

It's Great To Be 8!
Mick's birthday rolled around again last Friday. I keep telling him to quit growing up but he never listens to me!
We celebrated by presents, his own cheesecake, kayaking with his dad and a friend, and dinner at Winger's with grandparents from both sides of the family.
I am proud of my little man. He is so helpful around the house and loves his family very much. I can honestly say that I don't recall a time when he has willingly disobeyed me. It was fun to have him as a baby and toddler, but I do enjoy having him older and being able to have more meaningful conversations with him now. I look forward to all the future has to hold being Mick's mom.
We wrapped up an empty box and told him we bought him an air guitar. Haha. He was a good sport about it and even played it for us.
The thing he wanted most for his birthday was a rubber chicken! It has been sticking it's head out at me from all kinds of places from the kitchen cabinets to the washing machine to the entertainment center to the Diet Coke box in the fridge. Glad it's getting some use!
